The Minister of State for Police Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim says the Federal Government is poised for the emergence of a world-class police force that is inclusive, intelligence-led, technology-driven, and community-based.
She stated this at the citizens townhall engagement meeting on Community Policing, held in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
The townhall meeting which has the theme: Community Policing: A Safer Nigeria Together, had the Minister of State for Police affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, the Commissioner of Police, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, traditional rulers and other stakeholders in attendance.
The Minister said the Renewed Hope Police Agenda is aimed at strengthening community policing in Nigeria.
She said Abia is renowned for its commerce and industry, making it a focal point for trade across the Southeast and beyond.
Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim said the economic vibrancy also presents specific security challenges, particularly in the areas of business related crimes.
The meeting is aimed at strengthening the state’s efforts towards surmounting the security challenges.
