Protesters in their small numbers converged on the tollgate on Sunday to commemorate four years of the incidenct.
But were dispersed and arrested by the police officers with heavy presence at the scene.
But a few hours later the Police Public Relations Officer made a statement on social media that the arrested protesters had been released.
The presence of security officers ensured free flow of vehicular movement at the Toll gate.
Nigerian youth had called for an end to police brutality in the year 2020 by demanding the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad and since then, the nation has not forgotten the incidence.
