150 Bags of food items have been distributed to people who were displaced by flood in Argungu Local Government area of Kebbi State.
Over 1500 persons are currently taking refuge at the Polo Golf area, including adults, children, and elderly women.
Governor Nasir Idris who had earlier promised to provide food, and relief items, says the distribution marks the fulfillment of that promise.
Governor Nasir Idris during an inspection of the flood damaged area had pledged to construct ten bathrooms and 2 water boreholes for the displaced people.
Bello Yakubu Chairman Kebbi State Emergency Management Agency assured the community that more aid is on the way and the governor is working tirelessly to bring a lasting solution.
The chairman stated that efforts are underway to relocate the victims to a more comfortable area.
The Leader of the displaced persons thanked Governor Nasir Idris and expressed hope that the governor would fulfill his promise of relocating them to a better place with their families to enable them live in a more conducive area.
