Government of Enugu state has condoled the family of the slain Ogene singer, Okezie Chikezie Nwamba, known as Igbo Jah, who was killed by stray police bullets.
Secretary to the state Government led the Government delegation to the slain Ogene Singer’s family compound at Obeagu, Ogui Nike, Enugu North Council Area.
Okezie Chikezie Nwamba popularly known as Igbo Jah is renowned for his rich Igbo genre promotion, He is also regarded as best among his peers in Igbo cosmopolitan sphere.
The incident has triggered reaction from Igbo Jah supporters, who held street procession, demanding justice.
Moved with passion, Governor Peter Mbah condemned the action, calls for full scale investigation to unearth the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident.
The Governor represented by the Secretary To the State Government, led the delegation on condolence visit to the deceased family home, calling for calm with assurance that justice would be served.
A brother to the slain Ogene Musician, expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident.
Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Kanayo Uzuegbu, also consoled the family over the unfortunate shooting and murder of the musician by a police officer.
He reassured the family, relatives, friends, and people of Enugu State that the ongoing investigation into the case will be concluded within record time and justice duly served.
