Troops of 1 Brigade in Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have killed a bandit kingpin Alhaji Ma’oli and several other terrorists in Zamfara
The operation took place in Mai Sheka village, near Kunchin Kalgo town, which is one of the local communities that had suffered under Ma’oli’s reign of terror.
Ma’oli is well-known for levying unlawful levies on people of Unguwan Rogo, Mai Sheka, Magazawa, and other Bilbis-area villages in Zamfara State’s Tsafe LGA.
Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre for Operation Fansan Yamma, stated that the terrorists were killed during the operation on Thursday, December 26.
According to the statement, the execution of Ma’oli has provided some relief and excitement to inhabitants in Bilbis and the adjacent areas.
The operation was launched in response to intelligence reports about terrorists on motorbikes operating in the Bilbis axis of Bilbis District, Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State.
According to Abubakar, the swift response by Operation Fansan Yamma forces not only foiled the terrorists’ intention to harm the villagers, but also underlined the resolve to safeguarding the area from future acts of violence.
Operation Fansan Yamma insists on its mandate to pursue and neutralise other terrorists and their collaborators inside its area of operation.
The Joint Task Force will also continue to work assiduously with local communities to achieve long-term peace and security in Zamfara State and beyond.
