Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has approved the sum of N238 million intervention fund for victims of the 2024 flood in the worst-hit five local government areas of Adamawa State.
The governor gave the approval during the state executive meeting in Yola.
In the coming days, about 920 victims of the 2024 flood in Adamawa State will have a course to smile as governor Fintiri has approved funds that will help them pick up their lives again.
In 2024, flood waters ravaged Numan, Lamurde, Madagali, Michika, and Demsa, causing so much damage, rendering hundreds homeless, and destroying farmlands amongst others.
The State commissioner for information says despite the initial assistance rendered by the State government, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has also approved payment of 250,000 to each household to cushion their losses.
The commissioner for environment also shares his views on the payment.
A community leader in one of the affected areas commends the government for the initiative which he believes will go a long way.
With 250,000 budgeted for each household, the beneficiaries say it will go a long way in helping them get back on their feet, despite the current economic hardship nigerians are going through.
