Chairman of the Birnin Kebbi local government, Muhammad Nayaya has revealed that the state government has approved the acquisition of land for a new cemetery in Birnin Kebbi, citing the inadequate capacity of the existing site.
Adding that With the present site nearly full, a span of 100 hectares have been acquired, with 144 million naira been allocated to compensate landowners for the project.
He also highlighted that the governor has provided funding to all 21 local government councils in Kebbi for renovations of their secretariat buildings, transforming them into modern facilities.
Alhaji Muhammad Nayaya , who serves as the chairman of ALGON expressed its readiness to embrace the financial and administrative autonomy awarded to local government councils.
He emphasized the supportive role of Governor Nasir Idris, noting that he has actively defended the rights and privileges of local government councils regarding their financial operations.
