Nigeria’s creative industry can boost the country’s GDP if properly supported and harnessed.
It has been confirmed that Nigeria’s creative industry is capable of contributing nothing less than N154 billion Naira annually to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country.
The President of The Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria (TAMPAN) made this known while speaking about the hidden treasure in the industry.
The President of the association, Bolaji Amusan, made this known while speaking about the untapped potential of the creative industry in Nigeria.
He says between February 19th and 22nd, the association is ready to unveil more through its national conference tagged EKO 2025, with the theme Maximizing the Potentials of Arts and Creativity.
He wants government at all levels to give required support to the creative industry, citing London, America, and India as examples.
He appreciates the Lagos State Government for the collaboration with the industry to host the Conference and confirms that the programme will give opportunity to appraise the contributions of the creative industry to the stability of the nation.
The creative sector is said to currently employs 4.2 million Nigerians and its projected to create additional 2.7 million jobs within the next five years if its potentials are properly annexed.
