Finland is now the 53rd country to formally join the Artemis Accords, pledging to explore space in a peaceful and cooperative manner.
The signing, which took place during the Winter Satellite Workshop 2025 in Espoo, marked a significant milestone in Finland’s participation in international space programs.
Finland’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Wille Rydman, signed the agreements on the nation’s behalf, emphasising Finland’s long history of space research and technology.
Finnish companies and institutes, famed for their achievements in Earth observation and navigation, stand to profit from expanded international partnerships under the Artemis framework.
The Artemis Accords, signed in 2020 by NASA and the US Department of State, define rules for peaceful and transparent space exploration, including the Moon and other celestial bodies. They strengthen current international space treaties and encourage member governments to collaborate.
