Kebbi State Government has made a significant investment in the education of its indigenes, with Governor Nasir Idris approving the release of N117.2 million for upkeep allowance and accommodation for 25 students studying in Egyptian universities studying Nursing and paramedical courses.
This was highlighted by the commisioner for Higher Education, Isah Abubakar Tunga, Adding that the governor also assisted in paying for the return tickets of eight Kebbi State indigenes who graduated from a private university in India, to the tune of N14.4 million.
This latest development brings the total amount released by the governor for local and international students to over N2.765 billion.
This impressive commitment to education has earned Governor Idris the nickname “The Education Promoter”.
The Kebbi State Ministry for Higher Education has expressed its gratitude to the governor for his unwavering support, which has promoted academic and moral excellence in tertiary education.
