The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has issued a warning over the non-payment of their bridging claims by the Nigerian Midstream Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
The association, through its Depot Chairmen Forum while briefing journalists in Abuja announced the possibility of withdrawing their services if their demands are not met.
The marketers stated that they are owed over N100 billion, a debt that has crippled operations at nine major depots in the North despite repeated promises by the NMDPRA.
They warn that if no action is taken starting from Monday February 24th, they will have no choice but to withdraw their services, potentially worsening the country’s fuel supply situation.
The claims which dated to 2024, were deducted from marketers’ payments for products to settle bridging allowances.
