The police, in collaboration with operatives of the State Security Service (SSS), have dispersed a group of protesters at the Kofar Nasarawa axis of Kano State.
The demonstrators, some of whom arrived in buses, had gathered under the bridge before security agents used tear gas to disperse them.
While the reason for the protest remains unclear, there is a heavy security presence around the road leading to the Kano Government House, with some sections restricted.
