The Jigawa State Police Command has distributed N91.4m to families of Police Officers who died in service.
The funds, handed over by Commissioner of Police AT Abdullahi, were part of the Inspector General of Police Family Welfare Scheme, which provides financial support to bereaved families before full benefits are processed.
At a ceremony in Dutse, 24 beneficiaries received cheques aimed at easing their financial burdens.
CP Abdullahi said the initiative reflected the police force’s commitment to supporting officers and their families.
He said no amount of money can replace the fallen officers, but this shows that their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
One of the recipients, Sauki Rose, thanked the police for what she described as “a life-changing gesture”.
The event ended with a moment of reflection and prayers for the deceased officers.
