Governor Ademola Adeleke says the People’s Democratic party will not appeal against the court of Appeal Judgement which reinstated the Chairmen and Councillors allegedly sacked in 2022 by his administration.
Addressing the Council of traditional rulers in Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke said the judgement has no consequential order and will be ignored.
The Governor described as shocking, the advice by the Attorney General of the federation, Lateef Fagbemi to shelve the February 22nd local Government election saying the supreme Court judgement on Rivers local Government election has clearly shown that the Osun 2022 Council polls was conducted in violation of the electoral act.
While appealing to the traditional rulers for their intervention, the Governor also alleged the reinstated Chairmen of defying his directive to steer clear of all the Councils.
In his response, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi appealed to both the State Government and the APC to thread softly and put the interest of the people first in their consideration.
