The Nigerian Police Force in synergy with other security agencies is addressing the rising incidents of kidnapping in the Owerri West and Ngor Okpala council areas of Imo State.
The Operation to address these issues was led by commissioner of police and heads of other sister security agencies.
They are conducting an intensive Operation to comb the forested areas bordering Obinze, Ihiagwa, Avu and Irete communities.
The operation which was also aided by Forest guard and local vigilante is aimed at flushing out criminal syndicates threatening the peace and security of the State.
The operation is also to reassure residents that security forces are ready to curb the activities of criminals enforcing the now-ineffective Monday sit-at-home order, associated with the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
