The Niger State Police Command has arrested 11 suspects in connection with a violent clash involving youths and secondary school students in Chaichainiya, along Kaduna Road in Suleja.
The incident, which occurred on 6th March 2025 at approximately 11 p.m., reportedly arose from a dispute over romantic relationships, allegedly instigated by one Umar Idris from the same area. During the altercation, gunshots were fired from various directions, resulting in two victims, identified as Nura (10) and Imrana (11), sustaining gunshot wounds to their legs.
Following a covert operation, the police apprehended 11 suspects, including Umar Idris. Preliminary investigations revealed that a personnel from a sister security agency was responsible for the shooting that injured the two victims.
The police stated that investigations are being intensified, and further developments will be communicated to the public in due course.
