The convoy of the Rivers State Governor, Siminalaye Fubara, has been denied access into the House of Assembly quarters where the lawmakers have been sitting reportedly to present the 2025 budget but they were denied access.
The gate of the premises was shut against them.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara was expected to make the long awaited presentation of the 2025 budget before the House of Assembly following a judgment by the Supreme Court.
This is the latest instalment of the long running battle of wits between the Rivers State Governor and the State House of Assembly.
This incident is coming barely 48 hours after the governor and his predecessor and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, reportedly had a meeting with the President, Bola Tinubu.
Its also just 24 hours after the Governor, Siminalaye Fubara, once again declared that the Supreme Court judgment will be implemented fully by the State government.
Governor Fubara has since departed the State House of Assembly following the decision to deny him access when he arrived to present the 2025 budget.
