The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate says that President Bola Tinubu is prioritising the development of digital innovations, a stronger supply chain for essential medicines, and improved data management in enhancing healthcare delivery across the nation.
Speaking at the Global Alliance for Women’s Health – Global Activators Network on Maternal Health workshop, the Coordinating Minister emphasized the need for better policy execution and intersectoral collaboration across federal MDAs and between federal entities and their subnational counterparts.
Prof. Pate also acknowledged the crucial role of State governments and local authorities in ensuring that healthcare services reach women in need as President Bola Tinubu works to ensure Universal Health Coverage for all Nigerians, stressing that the solution to maternal health challenges in Nigeria requires a collective approach, involving the government, civil society, and the private sector.
The workshop, organised by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, brought together key stakeholders, including government officials, healthcare experts, and private sector partners, to develop strategies for preventing maternal deaths.
