Police in collaboration with personnel of the Community Protection Guards and hunters has repelled bandits attack and killed scores of armed bandits, Including a Notorious bandit Kingpin, Dan Isuhu Mudale in Zamfara.
The terrorits were killed during an exchange of fire when they attempted to attack Keta Town in Tsafe, Local Government area of the state, Thursday evening
Sadly, One Police officer, four Community Protection Guards, and two hunters paid the Supreme price while Two hunters are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, in Gusau
A press statement by the Zamfara police Spokesperson, DSP Yazid Abubakar, says the troops acted on a distress call from the locals when a large number of armed men were sighted on the move towards Keta Town with the intend to attack the village
“At approximately 1540hrs, a good Samaritan reported that a large number of armed bandits had stormed Keta town with the intention of perpetrating their inhumane acts” The statement reads.
“In response, a joint operation comprising PMF, CTU, hunters, and CPG mobilized and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle”
“Regrettably, one PMF personnel, four Community Protection Guard (CPG) members, and two hunters made the ultimate sacrifice during the attack while Two hunters are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau” He added.
“However, the operation was successful in neutralizing a large number of bandits, including the notorious kingpin Dan Isuhu Mudale, who had been terrorizing Tsafe and its environs” The Police Said.
The Zamfara State Police Command insist it will not relent in its efforts to rid the state of crime and restore confidence among its citizens
It also urge residents continue to collaborate with the police by providing useful and timely information of a any suspicious movement to the security agencies for prompt action.
This sad event is coming barely a week after a joint security team killed scores of terrrorits and destroy their camps, though some members of the Zamfara State own security outfit, Community Protection Guards were killed in an ambush laid by the bandits around Bagega area in Anka Local government area while returning from the operation.
