The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken a major step towards enhancing its emergency response and operational safety with the formal upgrade of its fire engines.
The vehicles, part of a larger fleet of 19 undergoing revamp, were presented at a ceremony where the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, emphasized that the upgrades go beyond symbolism and reflect a deep commitment to operational readiness and safety across the force.
The Air Chief said the fire trucks are a visible manifestation of his command philosophy and stressed that air operations now form the core of the service’s strategic direction, with increased focus on fleet expansion, combat readiness, and operational safety.
Highlighting ongoing efforts to build a safety-conscious force, the Air Chief revealed that over 1,500 NAF personnel have been trained in safety disciplines, including fire safety and prevention, in 2024 alone.
