The Minster of Information and National Orientation has called on the media to deny terrorists the publicity they are seeking.
The Minster, represented by the Director General of the Voice of Nigeria, Jibrin Ndace, told a forum of military and media professionals that terrorists thrive in the publicity of their notoriety and the media must be cautious in giving them mileage.
It was the maiden edition of the Defence Media Operations forum for the media and military.
With the theme: ” Media As a key Component of Joint Task Force Commanders Operational Success,” the military authorities seek to leverage the media’s role in agenda setting and community integration to tackle the security challenges in the country.
There are at least 8 Joint Task Force Security Operations across the country whose impacts are being scrutinised.
But the military is bent on scaling up non kinetic operations with the support of the media.
