Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has appointed the Emir of Kazaure, Alhaji Najib Hussaini Adamu, as Amirul Hajj for the 2025 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
The appointment was confirmed in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim.
Governor Namadi said the Emir would lead the state’s delegation and oversee arrangements for pilgrims from Jigawa.
The Governor also named four others to support the mission:
Dr Yusuf Abdurrahman, Chief Imam of Hadejia Emirate
Alhaji Lawan Ya’u Roni, Talban Kazaure
Dr Mahmoud Yunusa, Sa’in Dutse
Alhaji Adamu Dauda Zakar, Durbin Hadejia
Officials said the team was chosen for their record of service, integrity, and religious standing.
The delegation will work closely with the Jigawa Pilgrims Welfare Board and other agencies to ensure a safe and organised Hajj.
The government says security and welfare of pilgrims are top priorities.
The appointments take immediate effect.
