Taraba and Benue state governments have said they are ready to grant amnesty to repentant kidnappers and armed robbers, if they mend their ways before the end of January 2019.
This decision was reached at the end of a joint security meeting between the two governments in Taraba state.
Taraba and Benue Governors say their concern now is to contain criminal activities in their domains.
Governor Ishaku said he was worried by the increase in cases of kidnapping in his state which is seriously affecting economic activities in the affected communities.
The Governor however challenged traditional rulers to be more alert in order to identify miscreants in their domains for prosecution.
