President Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated a committee to advise the government on the best way to sustainably fund costs that may arise from the implementation of the new minimum wage.
The Committee will be chaired by Economist and Financial Expert, Bismarck Rewane.
It will determine how wage adjustments will be implemented, without causing damage to government’s economic plan; and has one month to submit its findings.
Recall that federal government and the leadership of the organised had on Tuesday signed an MoU on the transmission of the new national minimum wage bill to the national Assembly.
Labour leaders and members also on Tuesday staged nationwide rallies to press for the prompt implementation of the new national minimum wage of N30,000.
