Former President of Ivory Coast, Laurent Gbagbo has been acquitted of charges bordering on crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Court.
The International Criminal Court ruled that Mr Gbagbo had no case to answer as the charges preferred against him could not be proven by the Prosecution and therefore ordered his release.
The former President had been charged with crimes against humanity in connection with violence following a disputed 2010 election that left 3,000 persons dead and 500,000 displaced.
He is the first former head of state to go on trial at the ICC.
