The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, has raised the alarm over the illegal action of some people using his name to defraud innocent Nigerians on the guise of securing favors from him.
He insists he has never instructed anyone to engage in any business transaction or wield influence in cases or investigations before the commission.
In a statement signed by the Special Assistant on Media & Publicity to Acting Chairman of EFCC, Tony Amokeodo, the EFCC boss urged the general public to be weary of certain dubious people who are working to tarnish his image.
Magu said, quote ” .I wish to inform the general public that recruitment of officers and men into the commission is strictly on due process.”
He added that the public should quickly alert the commission whenever anybody claims to be acting on his behalf or the EFCC for favours.
