Suspected members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect have launched an attack on Geidam community in Yobe state.The attack is coming two days after president Muhammadu Buhari visited the state for his re-election campaign.
Residents say the militants came in their numbers and shot sporadically. They claimed that the insurgents stormed the city around 5:30 pm, renting the air with bullets, and shot at the residents in the streets.
TVC News gathered that residents had to hide behind closed doors and others fled into the nearby bushes.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force jets quickly moved in to quell the attack.
This attack comes three days after the insurgents launched another attack in Buni Yadi, also in Yobe state.
