The Federal Executive Council has approved the sum of N580.5 million for the purchase of four armoured vehicles for use by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, said the decision to procure armored vehicles is part of efforts to encourage law enforcement officers and also safeguard the lives of NDLEA personnel who have been working very hard with lots of results to show for their effort.
A contract for the reconstruction of the Ido-ani road linking Ondo state to Edo state was also approved.
Minister of information and culture Lai Mohammed disclosed that 27 billion naira was approved for this project that will be completed in 27 months.
The ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment also got approval for the second phase of the Nigerian Sugar Master Plan (NSMP).
The sugar master plan seeks to among other things boost local production of the commodity to meet consumption demand locally and export to earn foreign exchange.
