The Senate also asked President Buhari to quickly fill up all the vacant positions in the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The Senators’ resolutions followed a motion by the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu which also urged INEC to urgently conduct all pending rerun elections in the country.
The decision followed the nomination of six persons for the positions of INEC national commissioners by President Buhari, as forwarded to the Senate for confirmation.
President Buhari also nominated commissioners for the National Population Commission.
