A group of protesters on Wednesday converged on the Lagos State House of Assembly to protest the planned impeachment of the state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
The men and women, who carried banners with different inscriptions, said the removal of Ambode would disrupt the peaceful conduct of the general election.
A few days ago, lawmakers had threatened to begin impeachment process against governor Ambode over allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of power.
But more than 24 hours after these allegations by the Lagos state house of Assembly, there is no official statement or response yet from the executive arm.
The group,known as “Peace keeping Group” Condemned the impeachment plot by the Lawmakers.
One of the protesters who spoke with TVC News described the move made by the legislature as dangerous for the All Progressives Congress especially as the crucial 2019 polls draw near.
They want the legislature to allow the Governor complete his term for peace to reign in the state.
