The Adamawa Government has set up a five-man Investigative Panel to probe the execution of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) projects under former Gov Murtala Nyako’s administration.
Governor Jibrilla Bindow’s spokesman, Yohanna Matias said the probe is not targeted at witch-hunting Nyako.
He explained that Alhaji Alfa Belel would serve the panel as Chairman with Mr Ayuba Tumba, Mr Jim Audu and Mr Babs Shuaibu as members while the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Political) in the office of the Secretary to the State Government, would serve as Secretary.
According to him the White Paper on Justice Bobbo Umar Judicial Panel of Enquiry which investigated the former administration of Murtala Nyako had been sent to the state’s Ministry of Justice for advice.
Bindow had threatened to ratify the white paper on the report of the judicial commission which investigated the administration of Nyako if supporters of the former governor continue attempts to sabotage his administration.
