Many people are feared trapped, and four have been rescued from the rubble of a collapsed building on Lagos Island.
The three-storey building located at 57, Egerton Square, Oke Arin, partially gave way while officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency were demolishing another house.
Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Rasaki Musbau, says the four rescued victims are occupants of the building and have been taken to a hospital.
The four rescued, according to Musbau, were all the occupants of the building.
“Information from our men on the ground at the scene showed that it was a partial collapse. They have removed four persons trapped in the building. They were all rescued alive.
“They have been taken to the hospital for treatment as I speak,” he added.
The incident comes one week after another building collapsed at Ita Faji, killing twenty persons and injuring more than forty.
