The Special task force, Operation Safe Haven Plateau, has donated relief materials to victims of attacks in Nandu community, Sanga Local Government area of Kaduna State.
Correspondent Funom Joshua reports that Nandu community is a shell of its former self after the village was attacked by gunmen a few days ago.
Ten persons were reported to have lost their lives, with over forty houses burnt down by the attackers during the night invasion.
The Special taskforce of the Nigerian military, codenamed operation safe Haven, deployed to restore normalcy in Plateau State and some parts of southern Kaduna, have, since the attack, tried to make sure the locals are protected from further attacks by the invaders.
A few days after the unfortunate incident, the leadership of the special taskforce organized a medical outreach to the community with over forty physicians and other medical personnel to attend to the health needs of the locals.
Food items together with Children’s clothing were also distributed to the community members by the special taskforce to help in alleviating the present challenges they face
The community is impressed by the efforts of the Special taskforce and are encouraged that the government and the military are with them in their time of travails.
The Commander Operation Safe Haven Plateau Augustine Agundu also assures the people that his men will be stationed in all corners of the locality, to make sure the gunmen do not get another opportunity to strike
The STF Commander after the medical outreach, also visited a neighbouring fulani community in an effort reconcile all warring communities
The leaders after much deliberation, assured him of their readiness to work towards the restoration of peace in the area.
