Nigerian Army said the military will not participate in the Saturday supplementary election in Sokoto but will be on a standby until call upon for emergency situation.
The General Officer Commanding 8th Division Nigerian Army Sokoto, Major General Akin Oladapo Otiki revealed this while interacting with journalists at the Army headquarters.
He said the military will keep a save distance from the pulling units as stipulated by the electoral laws, but will remain within the reach in case of emergency.
According to him, his men will stay behind at the barracks to respond to any distress call in any case of emergence.

He urged members of the press to discharge their duties responsibly.
