Nigeria Customs Service said it remains determined to ensure that smuggling is reduced to bare minimum, in the country.
Comptroller of Customs zone C, Kayode Olushemire also warned smugglers to desist from such acts. He disclosed this while conducting newsmen round the goods seized by men of the Nigeria Customs Service between January and March this year. The items include rice,exotic cars and others.
Comptroller Olushemire also warned Nigerians to desist from importing goods without paying excise duty to the Federal Government.
The Customs boss also expressed worry over the importation of foreign rice into the country.
He used the opportunity to reassure the people of the south south and south east, of the readiness of the service, to reduce smuggling in the zone.
