A leading political movement in Edo state, Assembly of Edo Patriots has vowed to make sure that the will of the people is protected.
In a statement issued by the Media Adviser of the organisation, Mr Lucky Igbadugie, in reaction to a group masquerading under the guise of Estako Solidarity Front (ESF) stating that Gen Charles Airhiavbere be told that there is no vacation in Edo State Government House, he said the group was faceless and shouldn’t be give any iota of attention.
“It is most laughable that a group that is unknown and lacks political weight in its small enclave of Estako can be speaking on behalf of the entire State.
“Democracy has come to stay in Nigeria and Edo State cannot be exempted, given what happened in Rivers State where the peoples will came to bare.
“The Assembly of Edo Patriots warn those undemocratic forces in Edo State to be ready to face the full wrath of the people regardless of whose backing they have.
“The government house in Edo State will be vacant as soon as the tenure of the incumbent expires and the people will be the one to elect whoever they choose to be their leader for the next four years.
“The Assembly of Edo Patriots therefore call on Gen Charles Airhiavbere to be free to aspire to be the next governor of Edo State under any political Party of his choice and the people of Edo will be prepared to stand by him because he is constitutionally and morally qualified to run for the office with an unbeatable capacity”, he stated
