Drivers of articulated Trucks on Monday blocked major highways in Kano State protesting against poor treatment by clearing agents in the state.
The aggrieved drivers said they were abandoned for more than 70 days without clearance by relevant authorities in the state.
TVC News Correspondent Ibrahim Isah reports that the drivers’decision paralysed business activities in the area.
The heavy vehicles converged on the state awaiting clearance from Inland Containers. They were not amused by the little or no attention given to them by relevant authorities.
The aggrieved drivers said the whereabouts of their agents remain a mystery, but the Nigeria Customs insist that a large the number of
articulated vehicles were not part of its schedule.
Meanwhile, sources said protests by the drivers may continue for days, if they are not attended to by the relevant authorities. But drivers hope that their situation will be looked into, in earnest.
