Police in Ondo state have arraigned six robbery suspects who raided a commercial bank in Idoani, Ose local government area of Ondo state.
A chief magistrate court sitting in akure, Ondo State capital has remanded in police custody five persons for alleged involvement in the Idoani Bank robbery two weeks ago which claimed seven lives.
Though six of them were arraigned on a seven count charge by the Ondo state police command, one of them was said to be at large.
Chief magistrate Victoria Bob-manuel after listening to arguments from both the prosecuting and defence counsel remanded the suspects in prison custody till 2nd of next month pending the advice from the office of director of public prosecution.
Their arrest came barely two weeks after the robbery incident.
The robbers numbering about eleven raided the bank for over two hours on the 9th April,2019, killing six persons and carted away an undisclosed amount of money.
Among those killed is a Police Inspector, two staff of the bank, two customers who were withdrawing through ATM and two others within the bank vicinity.
Five persons who sustained varying degrees of injuries have been rushed to the general hospital, Ido-ani.
Men of the Nigerian army who rushed to the scene came when the robbers had escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.
The bank located at Isewa quarters is the only financial institution in the community.
