Residents of Ondo state have called on the Police authorities to declare the alleged killer of eight members of a family wanted! The suspect is accused of setting the family of his former girlfriend on fire, after she jilted him.
Ayodeji Moradeyo reports that many residents of Ondo State are yet to come to terms with the gruesome murder of eight members of a family in Igbodigo area of Okitipupa Local Government Area.
A man identified as Deji Adenuga, allegedly set the house of the family ablaze, killing five persons in the process. He was said to be angered by decision of his estranged girlfriend to dump him.
The death toll in the arson has risen to eight, as three members of the family also passed away due to severe burns.
According to Police Spokesperson in the State, Femi Joseph, the only survivor in the case is the lady at the centre of the crisis, identified as Titi.
Beyond this, residents of the state want the police to declare the alleged killer wanted. They say the suspect, who has since gone into hiding, must be fished out.
They asked the police to place bounty on him and release his identity to members of the public. The people want the police to step up its investigation and bring the killer to justice.
