The chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Bayelsa state chapter, John Ndiomu, has promised to promote and defend the welfare of workers in the state.
He said this during his maiden speech after his successful re-election at the 2019 NLC Delegates Conference and election in Yenagoa.
Ovieteme George reports that accreditation of delegates was done outside the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre in Yenagoa. Up for contention were positions for the Auditor,Vice Chairman and Chairman of the State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress.
Delegates of the various Labour Unions cast votes for preferred candidates before the counting process was concluded. The election was superintended by the Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress.
The new executive of the NLC has been inaugurated with John Bipre Ndiomu as Chairman for a second term.
