The United Nations General Assembly President, María Fernanda Espinosa, has arrived in Abuja, on an official visit.
She was received by Senior government officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the United Nations Office.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had on Sunday in a statement, said key issues to be discussed on her visit includes Nigeria’s transition to the 74th Presidency of the General Assembly, its role in Regional Peace and Security and Nigeria’s Regional Initiatives to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The meeting will be followed by a Joint Press Conference at 11.00am.

The president of UNGA is also expected to have bilateral meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa.
She would be a guest at the University of Abuja, where she is expected to present a paper with the theme “Responding to Global Challenges in a fast-changing World: the Case for Strengthening Multilateralism”.
