President Muhammadu Buhari, has conferred the Governor of Enugu state Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi with the National Honour as the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
The Governor was decorated alongside 476 recipients at the International Conference Centre Abuja
Governor Ugwuanyi who is serving out is tenure as a two term governor of Enugu state, may have been considered for the national Honour, due to his astounding performance in Education, Health, solid infrastructure, human capital development and ensuring the state remains the most peaceful state in South Region of the Country.
Also, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential running mate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, was also conferred with the prestigious national award as Commander of the Order of Niger (CON) with the Notable Nigerian Musician Wasiu Ayinde who was honoured with the award as a Member of the Order of Nigeria (MON).
Among those conferred with the national honours were some past and present leaders in various fields of endeavours.
A total of 440 Nigerians and 7 foreigners were conferred with various national honours for the 2022 edition of the national award ceremony.
