Nigerian youths have been advised to take advantage of the drive of the federal government on job creation and reduction of unemployment in the country.
Managing Director of the Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority made this known during the opening session of the 3rd youth Empowerment Programme of the agency.
TVC News Kazeem Olowe reports that majority of beneficiaries are graduates who are seeking for employment but after waiting for years without success they embraced the youth training and empowerment programme of the Ogun Oshun River Basin Development, Abeokuta.
Speaking on what the federal government wants to achieve through the agency’s Empowerment Programme, the managing Director said they are working towards building another set of business owners who are ready to contribute to the local economy and boost that of the country.
100 participants have been selected to participate in the programme and they will be divided into different groups which are Agriculture, fish processing, Soap making and catering.
One of the participants say the training will turn her life around and give her the opportunity to excel. Aside for the free training, participants will also go home with take off grants to start their businesses
