A 23-year old orphan has set a new academic record at the Delta State University, Abraka with a 4.91 Cumulative Grade Point Average in Mathematics, to emerge the school’s all-time best graduating student.
TVC News’ Ikenna Amechi reports that the ceremony began with Procession by the graduating students, members of the academics and the visitor of the institution.
The Delta State University has a rich blend of courses from Engineering to Medical Sciences, Social Science and others but the citadel of learning prides itself in the growth achieved since its establishment in 1992.
A total of 4,252 graduands with 68 first honour are ready to launch their way into the larger society to impact positively what they have learnt over the years
This year’s graduation recorded a great feat as 23-year old whose parents died when he was just 10-year old set a new academic record in the 27-year old institution with a 4.91 CGPA in Mathematics.
For the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Victor Peretomode it was mixed feeling as his tenure comes to end later this year. but his achievements speak volume, one of which is the completion of 5 units of duplexes from IGR which was inaugurated by the Governor
