Former President, Goodluck Jonathan said the Bayelsa Education Development Trust Fund will promote education and deal with youth unrest and militancy in Bayelsa State.
Jonathan spoke at the launch of the education project in Yenagoa where he commended Governor Seriake Dickson for sustaining a policy geared towards changing the narrative.
Bayelsa is among the first five best performing states in the West African Examination Council and the National Examination Council results in the past five years. This was only achieved after a declaration of a state-of emergency in the Education sector in 2012.

At the launch of the Bayelsa Education Development Trust Fund, Governor Seriake Dickson appointed former President Goodluck Jonathan Honourary Special Adviser to attract donations to the project.
The education project is conceived for many reasons. Students and the youth are direct beneficiaries of the Trust Fund.
