Preparations are in top gear for the first ever June 12 Democracy day celebration, Secretary General of the Federation Boss Mustapha , disclosed this in Abuja at the unveiling Ceremony of the National Democracy Day Exhibition
Correspondent Tijesu Adeoye reports that since President Buhari made the official announcement in 2018, many Nigerians have been looking forward to celebrating June 12th.
For many people, this day depicts the struggles to establish Nigeria’s democracy and the pains ,and losses recorded along the way.They are happy that their calls to formally recognise it as Nigeria’s true Democracy Day ,has now yielded fruit.
And now the planning committee is working hard to ensure that this celebration does not fall short of expectations. As part of the activities leading up to the June 12 celebration, a historical photo and art exhibition was unveiled in Abuja.
This exhibition is aimed at deepening the understanding of Nigerians especially youths on the country’s political history and democratic experience as a Nation.
The exhibition will remain open to the general Public from the 7th to 12th of June 2019 .
