Presiding Justice of the Lagos Court of Appeal, Mohammed Garba, has been appointed to replace Zainab Bulkachuwa as the Chairman of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
Bulkachuwa stepped down following a petition from the Peoples Democratic Party 2019 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku and his party had requested that she withdraw from the petition tribunal due to her relationship with an APC Senator-elect from Bauchi State.
She had recused herself last month from participating in adjudicating petitions challenging the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.
