Iran has denounced as “ridiculous” and “dangerous”, allegations by the United States that Tehran was behind reported attacks on tankers, near the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement released on Friday, the Iranian mission to the United Nations, said it condemned the allegation “in the strongest possible terms”.
The blasts came a month after four oil tankers were damaged in an attack, off the coast of the United Arab Emirates.
The two vessels – the Japanese-owned Kokuka Courageous and the Norwegian-owned Front Altair – were damaged on Thursday morning, as they were leaving the Gulf of Oman.
The release of the footage came, after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said US intelligence agencies had concluded that Iran was responsible for the attacks, without offering concrete evidence.
