With scores tied at 2-2 Team Tombin of Abuja and Team Leadway of Lagos have all to play for on Sunday in day two of their Group match-up in the Davis Cup styled NCC Tennis League at the National Stadium in Surulere.
In day one action earlier on Saturday, with scores tied at 1-1 after two men’s singles matches, Sarah Adegoke shot Team Tombin up with a two sets victory, 6-3, 7-6, over Ronke Akingbade of Leadway in the women’s singles.
But just when Tombin appeared to have one foot in front, Team Leadway battled back to tie up the clash at 2-2.
The men’s doubles pair of Joseph Ubon Imeh and Monday Igbinovia rescued the game for the Lagos team after defeating Moses Michael and Christian Paul of Tombin 6-3, 5-7 and a tie break game 11-9.
Three games, two singles matches and a mixed doubles, will be played on Sunday to decide the winner of the tie in the White Group.
