A coalition of youth groups in Ogun state is appealing to governor Dapo Abiodun to reverse what they describe as years of marginalisation against the Yewa people since the state was founded in 1976.
TVC News Kazeem Olowe reports that some Youths in Ogun West have complained that their Senatorial districts is not getting the fair share of what legitimately belongs to them.
They noted that out of the three Senatorial Districts in Ogun State, two have produced Governors and Ministers. They added that the two zones also have public universities sited in their areas, leaving the third without any.
Worried by the state of things in the state and what they tagged as Marginalisation and Imbalance, the youths under the aegis of Coalition of
Ogun West Youths Associations have called for inclusiveness.
They claimed that the zone is producing about 75% of the state’s Internally Genenerated Revenue and could’nt understand why they have not been able to get desired infrastructural development in the area.
Ogun West comprises of Ado-Odo/OTA, Ipokia, Imeko Afon, Yewa South and Yewa North local governments.
